During 2016 IACA celebrated its fifth anniversary and continued its exciting growth as an international organization and an educational institution in anti-corruption and compliance. We would therefore like to warmly thank the many individuals and institutions who worked with and supported us over the past 12 months: our constituency members, our Boards, partners, students and participants, our alumni, faculty, donors, the host country, the local community, and numerous other friends and stakeholders.
At the fifth session of IACA’s Assembly of Parties in Vienna in November, our global constituency reiterated its strong support and praise for our work in empowering professionals through anti-corruption education and capacity-building programmes. Furthermore, we will start the new year with 70 Parties after welcoming Bahrain, Côte d’Ivoire, El Salvador, Sudan, and Uganda during 2016.
Highlights on the educational side included the graduation of our second Master in Anti-Corruption Studies (MACS) class on 9 December, International Anti-Corruption Day, with two other MACS classes running in parallel, the second IACA Regional Summer Academy, this time focusing on Eastern Africa, and our busiest ever year for tailor-made trainings, which we customize to the specific needs of individual organizations and companies.
As a result our alumni network has expanded to include some 1,100 anti-corruption and compliance professionals in more than 140 countries – all of whom are ambassadors and multipliers in our common cause of fighting corruption to make this world a fairer place.
Thank you all once again for your engagement and support, and best wishes for a happy and successful 2017!
