IACA today stressed the importance of international cooperation to the further implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and fulfilment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Addressing the high-level segment of the Seventh Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the UNCAC in Vienna, Martin Kreutner, IACA’s Dean and Executive Secretary, said that successful anti-corruption efforts rely on international cooperation “not only in spirit and with warm words, but also through practical steps and concrete deeds”.
A high-level delegation from the Arab Republic of Egypt visited campus on Tuesday to discuss details of further cooperation following the successful sixth session of IACA’s Assembly of Parties in Sharm El Sheikh last month. Egypt, representing the African Group, holds the Presidency of this session of the Assembly.
With the accession of Guinea to the Agreement for the Establishment of IACA as an International Organization, the Academy’s constituency increases to 72 Parties. These comprise 69 UN Member States and three international organizations.
The Agreement remains open for ratification by its remaining original Signatories and for accession by all UN Member States and international organizations.
