Each year in July the annual Alumni Reunion is held in Laxenburg. This two-day event is tied to the last two days of the annual IACA Summer Academy held at IACA’s campus during the first week of July. The two-day programme for the Reunion provides alumni with an opportunity to network on-site with fellow alumni, benefit from interactive and specifically chosen lecturers for this event, and the possibility to extend their professional network through networking with current Summer Academy participants.
Dates and Lecturers
IACA’s 5th Alumni Reunion will take place on 5 and 6 July 2018. Sharing their latest insights on hot anti-corruption issues will be Michael Johnston, Charles A. Dana Professor of Political Science Emeritus at Colgate University and a pioneer in the anti-corruption field, Paul Myers, British investigative journalist, Tina Søreide, Professor of Law and Economics at NHH Norwegian School of Economics, and Rebecca B. L. Li, Consultant on anti-corruption and corporate governance and former acting Head of Operations of the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).
Invitation: Speak at the Reunion
A special highlight of this year’s programme is the opportunity to speak at one of three sessions reserved for alumni only. This year, Alumni members are invited to contribute to the official Alumni Reunion 2018 programme by becoming one of the speakers. All interested alumni should apply to IACA by sending their proposal to email@example.com by 31 May 2018. IACA will choose the three best topics for the selected alumni to present during the Reunion. Please join us for two days filled with networking opportunities, a gala dinner, and daytime programming featuring the Academy’s renowned faculty members and prominent alumni. We will start our activities in the evening of Wednesday, 4 July with an informal (and optional) get-together in downtown Vienna. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow alumni and catch up with old friends.
Our traditional gala dinner with the IACA Summer Academy participants and International Master in Anti-Corruption Compliance and Collective Action Programme (IMACC) students is planned for Thursday, 5 July. Enjoy live music and dance your heart out!
Fee and Discounts
The participation fee is 250 EUR per person. This includes lectures, coffee and lunch breaks, shuttle bus service from Vienna, and the gala dinner. According to IACA’s Discount Scheme for Parties and Alumni, alumni are eligible to at least 15% discount for the Alumni Reunion.
The Alumni Reunion will immediately follow the “Best Of” Seminar with Tina Søreide on 3 and 4 July. For those wishing to attend both events, we are offering a special package price of 792 EUR (the fee for the “Best Of” seminar alone is 740 EUR). No discounts are applicable on the special package price.
Alumni are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements and any associated costs. A limited number of rooms will be pre-booked at a hotel in Vienna. We recommend that those interested in this offer contact us as early as possible and we will provide you with detailed information and with the hotel booking form.
If you require a visa to travel to Austria, IACA will issue a note verbale in support of your application. Since the visa application process can take a long time, please allow at least two months before the start of the Alumni Reunion to secure your visa.
Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis, so hurry up and reserve your seat for the exciting Alumni meeting in 2018!
