The IACA Regional Summer Academy - East and Southeast Asia is an eight-day interdisciplinary programme for anti-corruption and compliance professionals from this region seeking to sharpen their skills.

It will be held in Beijing, China, from 9 to 16 September 2018.

Featuring world-leading lecturers, the programme will address region-specific topics and enable the exchange of knowledge, experience, and good practices among professionals from 16 countries.

Target Group

Professionals from countries and areas in Eastern and South-eastern Asia with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the public or private sector, international or non-governmental organizations, as well as media representatives, and researchers in areas related to anti-corruption and/or compliance.

Applicants with a level of junior engagement demonstrating their potential may also apply.

Countries and Areas Nationals of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region), Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Viet Nam are eligible to apply.

The IACA Regional Summer Academy – East and Southeast Asia is the fourth in the series of regional programmes modelled after IACA’s successful annual Summer Academy.

These interdisciplinary regional programmes promote a deeper understanding of corruption, prepare participants to better address regional challenges and promote best practices, and offer frameworks for durable anti-corruption and compliance strategies.

Internationally renowned professors and practitioners combine theory with real-world case studies, providing fresh insights into regional anti-corruption issues.

The IACA Regional Summer Academy – East and Southeast Asia will consist of lectures, roundtable discussions, an excursion, and a teambuilding exercise.

Admission Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, or alternatively a level of junior engagement demonstrating the applicant’s potential
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Citizen from a country or an area in one of the UN Eastern and South-eastern Asia geographical sub-regions

Participants will be selected taking into account their professional and academic experience.

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee is 480 EUR and covers the costs for the training, including an opening gala dinner, accommodation for eight nights, meals, and refreshments.

Travel and Accommodation

Accommodation and local transportation will be arranged by IACA and are covered by the tuition fee.

Participants are responsible for their own flight arrangements to Beijing, China.


Participants are responsible for their own medical and travel insurance and any associated costs.


Participants requiring a visa for China are responsible for their own visa arrangements and any associated costs.


Some 55 professionals from 14 countries in the Middle East region joined IACA’s third Regional Summer Academy – Middle East. The programme, which was is co-organized by the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), was held in Kuwait City, Kuwait, and took place from 9 to 14 December 2017.
